Three experienced consultants manage HFH Consulting and are dedicated to delivering you the very highest standard of care assessment. All our consultants can act either for the claimant, defendant or take on joint instructions. Their experience of giving evidence, conducting assessments and supplying detailed reports is an invaluable asset to our clients.

- Jane James

As a founder member of the Expert Witness Institute, Jane has been giving evidence for personal injury litigation for many years. She founded HFH Consulting in 1988 to provide a reliable and professional, care assessment consultancy designed to support the legal process. As our Senior Consultant she now handles in excess of 70 cases a year both at home and overseas, and is committed to delivering the highest quality of service to our clients. Jane originally trained as a general and paediatric nurse and has worked in a variety of challenging roles in health and social care. This, combined with her many years of being Managing Director for HFH Homecare, has given her an in depth understanding of those who need care support which underpins her care evaluation approach.

- Carole Fowler

Carole has been giving advice as an expert witness for HFH Consulting for over ten years and is a member of the Expert Witness Institute. She specialises in providing assessment and recommendation for people who have acquired disabilities as a result of incidents of negligence or accident. She additionally is an expert advisor in cases of mesothelioma and complex skeletal injury and has extensive experience in providing vital evidence for such court cases. Like Jane, she originally trained as a nurse but moved on to undertake a number of roles as a managerial practitioner of care. Her varied experience in the field of care provision ensures that she can deliver a clear insight into the impact of personal injury on individuals.

- Stephanie Cotterell

Stephanie is a professional nursing care consultant who has been providing evidence as an expert witness since 1995. She holds dual qualifications as a Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife and has worked in healthcare for over 14 years. With her extensive experience you can trust she understands all of the complexities with nursing provision and care evaluation. Stephanie now handles over 75 new instructions a year for HFH Consulting whilst still finding time to be a part-time lecturer at Stafford College of Caring Services.

- Jill Ferrie

Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1998 Jill has worked in hospitals, nursing homes and within a specialist rehabilitation service.  The majority of her career has been spent working within the specialist area of brain injury and managing a multi disciplinary therapy team within neurological rehabilitation.  Brain injury cases that Jill works with range from people in a low awareness state relying on oxygen and with tracheotomies to people with challenging behaviour and physical difficulties associated with their injuries.  Jill gives training to carers, families and therapy staff on individual rehabilitation programmes and therapeutic approaches.  Her experience in this field gives her an indepth understanding of the impact of personal injury on individuals.
