Schedule of Fees/Charges for Expert Witness Service from April 2009

Attendance at domiciliary visits over four hours long will be charged for at the hourly rate applicable to the Consultant.

Less than a full working day’s notice of cancellation of domiciliary visits will incur a half day’s charge.

The above rates will apply to all work apart from Overseas rates.

Overseas rates will be charged at £2,000 (per day).  This will include travel time and domiciliary visit.

Attendance at court will incur at least a half day (four hour) charge.  Attendance at court for longer than four hours will be charged for at the relevant hourly rate.

Attendance at case conferences will incur a minimum two hour charge.  Attendance at case conferences over two hours long will be charged at the relevant hourly rate.

Attendance at court and other hearings (but not preparation time) for all Consultants will incur an hourly charge of £200.00.  Travel to and from Court and other hearings will incur an hourly charge of £145.00.

Less than one full working day’s notice of cancellation of attendance at court will be charged at a half day rate and all reasonable preparation time will be charged for at the appropriate rate.

Less than one full working day’s notice of cancellation of attendance at case conferences will be charged at two hours and all reasonable preparation time will be charged for at the appropriate rate.

All other work will be charged for on an hourly basis and will be prioritised according to the date of instruction.  We will make every effort to accommodate the needs of all Instructing Clients.

Where travel time is involved, mileage costs will also be incurred at a rate of £0.60 per mile.

Any other charges will be at direct cost.

VAT at the standard rate is applicable to all fees and expenses.
